This is a very beautiful abalone shell necklace!! The necklace is sterling silver or silver plated (it is not marked) and is hard wire with a lobster clasp closure and a 2" extender. It measures about 15" all the way around. The abalone shell is so colorful and shiney and big. It measures 4 1/2" X 2 1/4".. Of course you can see that it is oval shaped and has a slight curve to it. It is held onto the necklace by a silver tone chain. So it can be taken off and/or changed anytime. I tried to get good pictures but you know how it is. items always look much better in person.Note: there is a smoker in the house and a cat.
