I get questions about what is the mint mark Where are the mint marks? Well they are located in different places on different coins. Today lets just talk about Morgan silver dollars and Peace silver dollars.
Lets start with the definition: A mint mark is a letter or other symbol that identifies the mint at which a given coin has been made. On most U.S. coins, the mint mark will be a D (for the Denver mint), or an S (for San Francisco.) Sometimes P was used (for Philadelphia), and other marks for historical issues (such as CC = Carson City) The positions of the mint marks on some of the currently circulating U.S. coins are briefly stated below, but keep in mind that if the mint mark is absent, the coin was minted at Philadelphia. The Philadephia mint mark is often omitted. The mint mark on the Morgan Silver Dollar if there is one is usually easy to find and if there is one for example... s will be above and right between the D and O on the word DOLLAR on bottom of the back (reverse) of the silver dollar. The Peace dollar is a little more difficult but can be seen (if there is a mint mark) on the back or reverse. On the back side or reverse you have an eagle perched on rock. On left side near eagle tail and under the word ONE you will find mint mark such as.... s, d, and so on. I am glad to answer questions.

I like Listia, but sad for me I recently paid over one million 2 hundred thousand CREDITS FOR new IPAD 3... Seller shipped it fine, however US postal service damaged it so badly that it was nothing but trash when I received it. They must have run over it our perhaps involved in one of those train wrecks we heard about????? It had a note DAMAGED so I thought US postal system would have documented the damage and Listia could confirm. Of course I put in a request for refund of my million ++ credits. After dozens of photos, & me even offering to mail damaged ipad 3 to Listia…. They (Listia) still refused to refund my million credits. Seller got his credits but buyer lost all 1,230,000 credits????? Isn’t that crazy??? So as you can imagine I am very upset with Listia. I gave seller positive feedback because it wasn’t his fault. Not sure why Listia thinks it is my fault. It was the Post Office that damaged the iPad, but I lost my credits. They say your credits are protected... well I guess not. Guess I had better sell lots of silver dollars to make up for that loss. Needs some bids on these coins. :-D Jim
