Description

The listing, Used Microsoft Office Home and Student 2007 - "Service Desk Edition" - Free Shipping has ended.

This is Office Home and Student 2007 "Service Desk Edition." I got this here as used software, no longer installed on previous owners machine. I looked up "Service Desk Edition" online and most posts agree that its the usual version in a smaller box, completely legal for private users to install for the regular non-commercial use as per normal Office Home and Student version.

The designation apparently refers to it being sold from behind service desks at computer stores when users come in to the service desk looking for upgrades. Here is a commercial vendor selling it on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Microsoft-Office-Student-2007-Service/dp/B000HDKVCM/ref=cm_cmu_pg__header. Amazon is normally very careful about software sales so selling to private users seems to be fine.

As I believe is now normal for Office Home and Student 2007 versions you can install on up to 3 computers but you have to be able to give an E-mail address to Microsoft that has an .edu extension. Someone correct me if I'm wrong about this version.

Free shipping. Amazon's description is below:

"Product Features

Nice auction. Fanned and watching. Surely this works for Snow Leopard? Do you accept Paypal for shipping?

No, I think this is a Windows only set of programs. I think you are thinking of Office 2008 or 2011 which are for the Mac. Office 2007 and 2010 are for Windows....

Geez, for some reason I was thinking that this was for a Mac.
So my question now would be will it work on a Netbook that has an expired version of Windows 7? This is why I loathe pc's. My Mac is never outdated and never nagging me about expired antivirus, expired etc. the way a pc constantly does.

Windows 7 is expired? Do you mean it is out of date, that it doesn't have updates? Or do you mean the antivirus is expired. You can get the free Windows Security Essentials which will take care of antivirus. For update, look on your program menu off the Start Menu just above "Accessories for "Windows Update". Windows 7 doesn't go out of date either, it just needs an updated antivirus and maybe more security patches than Macs. Another possibility might be that you have a beta version of Windows but that would be unusual. Windows updates are always free.

The title says "Used"...is this good for 3 computers or less?

Good question. As far as I know, the previous seller uninstalled it on all computers. I'll refund you if you cannot install and activate on 3 computers (and you can also keep the software - you won't have to send it back to me...).
