you mean till you get fruit? like 1 - 3 years or do you mean till they sprout? If that is the question it take 1 week or more depending on conditions.

you can grow them in planters and keep them inside the house. They will still fruit even if grown inside your house.

They are from a catus called a Night Blooming Cereus. I have on and last year, it fruited wildly and this year, I have had no fruit, just flowers. It flowers from June to Sept , and only at night.
