I honestly don't know what tapered ears are, but I bought a pair of white ones for myself and they fit just like normal stud earrings. What's nice, is if you want to wear without the lights on, just click them up a tad, (Their made to do this) and wear them like normal stud earrings. I hope this helps. =)
