i have a garmin nuvi 200 and they do not come with lifetime updates, HOWEVER later and newer garmin products have been coming with lifetime map updates as a perk for staying with garmin. i know qvc had garmin products that had lifetime products. is there any way you can take a picture of where it says lifetime map updates? thanks

Hmmm, good point. I looked closer at the box. It says NAVTEQ MAPS. Then on the back it has pics of maps so I think I assumed that was the map question that was asked of me. I don't even know what Lifetime maps are, LOL! OK so apparently this does NOT have Lifetime maps, because I don't see the exact words "Lifetime maps" anywhere on the box.

the garmin will work for a long time, and with the economy, not many new businesses are booming, so the maps on it will be great for a long time, and if 5-10 yrs u wanna update maps, it just like 50-60 dollars to update, but again thats completely optional.

HERE .......is the real scoop....The later garmins are coming with lifetime maps and some even include traffic....................if you go to www.garmin.com
Then you can get single updates and a heck of a deal for 89 bucks u can get lifetime
ALSO my 260 with old maps shows more roads then the 1300lmt I just bought
