Queen Annes Lace

Queen Anne's Lace is the wild progenitor of our cultivated carrot. It still has many of the properties lost in cultivation. This biennial plant is originally a native of Southern Europe introduced to the Americas in colonial times, probably in bags of grain. It is easy to grow, prefers a sunny position and a well-drained neutral to alkaline soil

Daucus carota. Biennial. Queen Anne's Lace produces clouds of small, pure white blossoms that cover 3' stems. These delicate looking lacy blossoms are well known in the cut flower market as they add charm to any bouquet, fresh or dried. Untreated seeds
