The listing, Medieval Mount 1600s-1700s- Documented and Archived has ended.
Some years ago, I bought a collection from an English gentleman that included some artifacts that he had found with his metal detector. All of the artifacts were archived on a database called the Portable Antiquities Scheme. Each artifact has a description of what was found and where. All of these artifacts have database numbers and can be looked up online. I will be putting these on from time to time.
This is a copper alloy mount from the 16th or 17th century. This plate is in the form of a flower (probably a rose head). It has moulded decoration on the upper surface consisting of 5 inner petals and 5 outer petals. It measures 13.1mm in diameter by 2.1mm thick and weighs 1.86 grams. This was found in Hertfordshire, England.
I am a collector and have collected whatever struck my fancy at the moment. I have gone through a lot of my things and decided to pass them on for someone else to enjoy. I'll be putting on things from stones to roman coins and such. Please keep checking to see what I have. I usually don't list every week though.
