The listing, Solid Vintage 14k Gold Diamond Ring - sz 4.5 has ended.

I brought this small ring to my jeweler to use as scrap gold and was surprised to find it was worth something! Needless to day I opted not to have it scrapped.

My dad bought this ring, used, for my mum about 26 years ago, but they split up the following year so it holds no sentimental value for anyone. At some point prior someone had tried to inscribe the ring by hand - there is a barely visible maple leaf drawn on the inside of the band, initials (can't make them out), and a date, which I think is around 1960. These marks are almost invisible now and were only spotted under a magnifying glass.

There are several stamps/hallmarks in the ring that I'm not familiar with, but the 14k is clear and appears in one of the photos. There is also a diamond-shaped stamp with letters in it that I cannot make out.

There are some scuffs and light scratches on the gold which are visible in the photos. The ring weighs 2-3 grams.

There are three stones in the ring that are *probably* diamonds. My jeweler and I did the standard visual and heat tests and the stones held up, but I didn't bother to have it lab tested. So, given what my jeweler said, the appearance of the stones and the stamps inside the ring, I'm confident that these are real diamonds, but I cannot guarantee it, however I will refund if winner is not satisfied with the authenticity of the stones upon receipt.

Wow, beautiful ring and great pics. How in the world did you get pics of the stamps on the inside of the ring? I can only see the stamps in my rings with a magnifying glass and I can't take pics like that. I have an iphone and it takes great pics. Any ways fanned and watching!

I agree with Rozarie that the B. 709-5n are usually Jewelers insignias. < not dates. The 709 is more then likely a copyright stamp and not that of what ya think someone tried to engrave them selves. Beautiful and watching. TY for listing this piece.

The 709-5n series and the hand-engraved date two different things on this ring... There are four marks: 14k (gold purity), a diamond shape containing letters (?), the 709 serial number, and the hand-engraved date/initials which you can barely see.

By the way, those are usually Jewelers insignias. < not dates and your jeweler should have known that.

The date that the jeweler spotted isn't the numbers you see in the photo. The date was "hand-engraved" and it's not visible in the photos, and barely visible to the naked eye.

Yes, on pictures 6 and 11 you can see the other stamped marks in the band. They are a series of numbers but I can't make them all out. I photographed them as best as I could. As mentioned in the description, someone also apparently engraved the inside of the band with a date and initials, however I can't see that myself, it was my jeweler that spotted it. It seems to be mostly worn away or it was never very deep in the first place.

I'm jealous! I'm a 6.5 on a cold day ;) I do find that what will fit on my ring finger will fit on my "right hand ring finger" and my indexes, but I don't have very big knuckles. As far as I can tell it's never been resized, though, so it could be pounded out half a size pretty easily without thinning it too much.

Yeah, it's very petite. I had to use my pinky finger to model it! I suppose you could have it resized, but it would cost you $20-$30 depending on how much larger you wanted it.
