Is it painted on wood?

No...it's painted on a canvas. I'm trying to figure out how to describe it....It's the kind of canvas you buy for painting on......with canvas material in the front and a hard material on the back...hard cardboard, maybe, on the back? It's about 8x10. Hope that helps.
