NO MOON GARDEN SHOULD BE WITHOUT ONE OF THESE NIGHT BLOOMERS.

Large white showy blooms,fun to watch open and the smell is almost inoxicating.I just want to smell it over and over.
I had 1 planted in the ground last year and it reseeded and came back this year, It has been blooming non stop now..
Had 13 blooms one night..
Excellent Moon Garden plant with large showy white, trumpet shaped flowers up to 8" long that open at night. Pollinated by Hawkmoths and other night time bugs..

7/26 the last pic shows a record of 33 flowers in one night! it smells sooooooooooo good outside!
8/6 over 50 flowers tonight!!

Medium to large spiny seed pods.

ALL PARTS OF THIS PLANT IS HIGHLY TOXIC.

Double purple Datura ,

Black Currant,

the Horn of plenty or the Downy thorn apple,

is a member of the Soanaceae, or nightshade family.

It grows 3 or 4 feet tall.

makes a great container plant too.

Plant can be over-wintered in a greenhouse environment.

Frilly, double, midnight-purple trumpet flowers with white inside.

Very fragrant especially at night.

ALL PARTS OF THIS PLANT IS POISONOUS..

So u say poisonous, is it to the touch? There very beautiful but I have kids. As you can telll I don't know much about plants but can you give me some more specific info. thanks.... Fanned!

Yes it is if you injest it, I have grandkids and pet and neither mess with it, I told the kids that it is poisonious and to stay away from it. I dead head my plant all the time and make sure I wash up good afterwards .
All parts of the plant is toxic. DO NOT EAT it.

Datura is a beautiful plant with marvelous flowers, but seriously folks, it is VERY toxic. Children have shown effects just from smelling the blossoms. They grow wild in South Carolina, and we have to wear protective clothing to pull them up and they can't be burned because of the fumes.

If contained and treated with respect, they are lovely plants, but they shouldn't be underestimated or put where children or pets might touch them.

I have one of these. The sweet fragrant smell is almost intoxicating. You just want to sit beside it and smell it all night long. I read that people who do astral projection keep one in their bedroom as it sort of lures them out of body. Never tired that. lol But just something I've read and wanted to share. I just got mine this past spring and could hardly wait for it to bloom.

I love this plant! never heard of it, I have a cactus that has to be planted by a tree or something that can guide it up,then the cactus grows down like octopus legs it flowers after midnight so its called Lady of the evening,by morning the flower is closed n will fall off but a cacti fruit will grow in its place n wood peckers love
the fruit. I have pets n people that visit with little ones so I dont think I could buy one of ur lovely plants;:( I enjoyed the info n the pics. I will fan you.
