SERPENT TAIL RADISH
RARE 'TOPSET' EDIBLE PODS
READY TO EAT 5-6 WEEKS FROM PLANTING!
You won't find these heirloom wonders in your local garden center!
Arriving with the Colonist, this unique, fast growing and very ancient cottage garden radish was once a staple within the hearts and tables of early American settlers. Considered the 'best tasting' of all radishes, the young pods have a mild flavor with that 'bit of a kick' radish lovers desire.
Aside from great taste, Raphanus caudatus (meaning "with a tail") is an interesting visual for your cottage kitchen! First, the plant produces beautiful pale-pink and white flowers and second, the unique tailed pods grow at the 'top' of the bush instead of underground! As an edible beauty, Serpent-Radish, also known as Rats-Tail Radish, is making its ornamental and delicious comeback within cottage kitchen gardens throughout the U.S. Get your fresh seeds while they last and grow a little history in your garden this year.
Plant a few new seeds every couple of weeks and keep your fresh supply growing all summer long. Eat raw, cooked, pickled or stir fried.
