Here is my two cents...I wear costumes for a living (part time). I do children's parties as well as corporate events and I say if it's something you want to wear it's a great conversation starter and you will get people trying to one up each other all night. I think at 46 you have the maturity to not get pissy if someone says something offensive but take it in a fun way. People say stupid things all the time (including me) and you just have to understand it's very rarely personal from people you don't know. The typed word doesn't convey the tone in which the message is sent. I have the problem of being to the point which often comes across as short. I certainly don't mean it that way and many times I wish I could change what I said or basically how I said it. Just remember there is rarely anything on here that is crisis worthy and keep your sense of humor. Don't look at everyone as trying to get you and read it a response more than once to see if you can see it more than one way. If not what is the harm in asking? Be yourself as that is the biggest gift you can give yourself and others! Being authentic about who you are shows you have the confidence to be you all the time. I have met people who are one personality at work, another with friends, and yet another with family. That seems like a lot of work to me! Just relax and don't make decisions on what others will think of you and simply do what you want! It's your life so get in the drivers seat and steer!
