Winner of the NL Rookie of the Year in 1959 and the NL MVP Award in 1969, McCovey was a dominating power hitter, bashing 521 home runs in his career. A 6-time All Star, McCovey is immortalized in San Francisco as the water beyond the right field wall at AT&T park is referred to as McCovey Cove.
