Description

The listing, 1959 Topps Mickey Mantle #10 Baseball Card (New York Yankees) has ended.

1959 Topps Mickey Mantle (New York Yankees) Baseball card, in my opinion card is in very good condition considering the age and being a Hall of Famer makes it even more special, card is free of any creases, corners of card have slight dings and centering seems to just be slightly off, also on right side front has very small ink mark as seen in last picture please see all the posted pictures and decide for yourself what you feel the card is worth to you as I'm far from being a sports card expert, card is be securely shipped in top loader if you have any questions please feel free to ask...Happy Bidding
Sorry no lowering days and no GIN as I want everyone to have a fair chance at bidding

This card is a reprint. It sells on eBay for 5$. Boy you sure lured in a bunch if suckers. Not your fault. The bidders should of did there homework before bidding. That line is on every reprint card. That's the mark of the manufacture. Good luck

Strange that experienced Listians are making statements that are completely untrue. Listia puts a guarantee on all listings so if anything goes wrong everyone is protected. Buyers and sellers alike.
But let's silence all the nay-sayers right now! All that needs to be done is this: Take the card, and a cell phone (on it's brightest setting) into a pitch dark room. Make the cell phone glow brightly, place the card on the brightness of the phone. If the light glows through like a film cell, then it's reprinted on current paper. If there is a slight dimness and doesn't glow through the card completely then it's made from old card stock that can't be counterfieted. Try it, I'd bet that you get no glow through the card. I can see though your pics that it's made with the old card stock. You'd be able to tell that through the soft corners, if the old brown paper is layered or if there is current paper white fiber fuzz. I'll be bidding towards the end. Thanks!

There is some good info here but also some bad. I with gman9976 on this. A guarantee of authentic should be given being it's a high profile card that maybe goes over 200,000 credits. I would hate for someone to be really disappointed sending it to PSA and getting something like this.:

https://www.etsy.com/listing/184278356/mickey-mantle-1959-topps-10-reprint-card?ga_order=most_relevant&ga_search_type=all&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_search_query=1959%20mickey%20mantle&ref=sr_gallery_7

gman has been blocked by me for his comments, do you guarantee and the things you list on here I highly doubt it and the added 1960 graded Mantle/Boyer card is just an added bonus that the winner will receive also...Now tell me that's not real

amberadamas and hockeyjim...if you compare graded cards on Ebay, just do a search for 1959 Topps Mickey Mantle PSA 3. You will see this card unfortunately is in worse condition that those. This card is a 1 or 2,, and according to Beckett would fall into $100 to $150 graded or ungraded. The fact that this gentleman went and bought a 1960 Topps PSA 4 (BTW is listed graded value of $40 on Beckett.com), shows his integrity to his listings. And let's be serious here folks, if you want for certain 1959 Mickey Mantle, go to Ebay. There is a reason most of us are on Listia anyway. I agree with Marc88. I think it's authentic. The mark on the left can easily be a piece of lint that got onto the plates during production. I've seen it all too often in 30+ years in the printing industry. and based on what Listia values their credits lately, the current bid of 93K doesn't even cover the PSA card. Kudos to Pamela!!!!!!!!

The differences between you and gman are just that. It has nothing to do with me. Yes, I do guarantee my video games I sell on this site to work and do give a detailed description on them as well the cards I sell on this site. I don't have many problems on this site but some. Check my profile page and you ma'am will see what kind of seller and buyer I am.

I've been collecting cards since I was 10 years old. I'm 53 now and have quite a collection. Also with those years comes knowledge and experience.

From experience it is known that Mantle is the player that has the most reprint cards than any other player.

I'm sorry, I pretty sure this card is a reprint and will not bid on it.

I do think it's gracious for you to include the graded card with it.

Peace!

Card looks 100% authentic to me so I don't know what these other people are referring to. A reprint would be perfectly centered which this card clearly is not.

this card is not a reprint i feel it is the real deal and the guy who called everyone a sucker just wants others to back out of the bid so he can claim it for himself. the reprint has a 1996 on the bottom right hand corner of the back, and this card does not have that.

I wish you the best of luck with your auctions! I have a card listed in my auctions right now (Mickey Mantle) as well, and i had to block someone from their rude opinions! I believe that if they are not interested in what you auction or the price, then they should just move on, not right to put people down! we are all here to have fun anyhow, so why stir up drama? Move on people!!! :) Once again, good luck hun! have a blessed day!

And I'll add, the people who claim to be in the collector business for decades have only been in the Listia business for a couple months. The cards they are selling are 90's donruss and such (no value at all). Especially FREEMIND, that person has no clue. I've blocked him due to shady activity, and poor shipping in plain white envelope damaging cards. You'd think "experienced collectors" would at least know how to ship a card, or know that cheap 90's commons shouldn't be sold individualy since it's not worth it at all. Don't listen to these would be experts, you have the coolest card on this site so far :-)

collectortrev....come join the suckers... It's fun down here..still not sold on the authenticity. It could be an old counterfeit. To be sure you would need to perform the light test on the card and another card from the series, preferably one close in number to the card in question.

I have this exact same card that I bought from my local card shop and I compared it to the one listed. The color, the card stock, the overall look to it tells me this card is authentic. A reprint card would be much brighter in color. Good luck to you Pamela !!

The fact that the seller is including a legit Mantle graded card is great, but the card in the title is a reprint that has been poorly "antiqued" to appear worn around the edges. Corner wear would be layered; this card appears to merely have been scissor trimmed on the corners. One fact that has been ignored is the color difference between the back of an authentic 1959 Topps vs. the example here. Authentic backs are cream colored, where this card back is grayish.
