Well....have 7 more old Jade pieces to add your collection of old things! I found more of these here in China where I live...I live in one of the oldest N.E. cities in China for the last 10 years!! Liaoyang, China in the North Eastern part of Liaoning Providence! I'm always on the hunt for old things with my metal detector and got some hits on some old Chinese coins(about 300 years old) and while I was digging....found some of these Nice different Jade pieces with 2 holes drilled through each one of them...Would make nice pieces for a necklace or bracelet!!
From my studies, they could have been used for a few different things, that I've found out in my over 10 years here...For some kind of ornament to wear(like necklace, bracelet..ect...) or they use to use these pieces to make suits for the important people when they use to bury them to protect them in the after life!! Many different Jade items were buried with the dead to protect them in the after life!! Jade holds special powers here in China! Who knows!! Hmmm, China Mike, you tempt me to get and get me a new metal detector. No telling what I'd find in my own back yard. Daddy used to keep a vegetable garden in the back yard. I can't tell you how many times he pulled his hankie out of his pocket, to wipe his sweating brow!

It depends on what part of the world you are in, as-to what kind of treasures you find with a metal detector. Fortunately, I don't have one. I'd be hunting night and day everywhere just to try and find something. I'd probably only find the old coke pull tabs, LOL =DDD Good luck with your auction, and metal detecting. This is nice. =D

If you get the good detector...they will help you find the good stuff! But, if it is an old detector or cheap one...that is all you find is the junk!! That's what I started off with..and it was hard to find anything good!!

Hard for me to get away too! But, it does pay off every so often! Can't wait to visit my parents in Missouri to hit some of the old Churches around them! A lot of times...the old timers use to carry a hankerchief in their pocket to blow their nose with...well before and after Church..they would stand around talking to others...and when it was time to blow..the hankerchief was pulled out of the pocket and sometimes loose change would fall to the ground!! This is a Treasure Hunter tip of the day!! Hit the old church grounds...lots of silver and even some pennies can be found here!!

LOL...I think they have to give it at offering to be God's money...Don't they? In the USA we have the finders Keepers law...Right?
The old docks are a good place to look to...in the water...if you have a water proof detector!!...They use to throw coins in for good luck before taking a trip on a boat! Specially the 1800's Steam liners!!

I would never do that! If something is lost...I think God would want us to find it! For example I had lost my father and hadn't seen him for over 50 years...And just two weeks ago...God allowed me to find him! It has brought such joy into my life! So, I look at if a few people lost some silver coins around a church....God would want us to find them to bring the joy of finding them into our heart! Just my feeling on the matter!!
