Can these be used only once?

Yes, but there are 24 in the package, and I cut mine in half so I get 48! :) Sometimes I cut them smaller, but for strap concealing I think 1/2 strip does best. So basically 24 uses if you cut them in half...one for each strap! If you are just using it to keep a low cut garment in place, you can actually cut them in quarters !
