This is a 1978 Topps "Strikeout leaders" card for Hall of Famers NOLAN RYAN and PHIL NEIKRO.

RYAN: Ryan's name is synonymous with the fastball; he fired them in at 100 mph throughout his career and into his 40s. Along the way, he struck out more batters than anyone in MLB history (over 5000), won over 300 games, and pitched an unprecedented 7 no hitters. One of baseball's most popular modern era players, the "Ryan Express" was an easy first-ballot selection to Cooperstown.

NEIKRO: One of baseball's most legendary knuckleballers, Niekro won 15 or more games 13 times in his career, winning 318 games over the course of his career. A 5-time Gold Glove winner and 5-time All Star, he pitched 245 complete games in his career, including 45 shutouts and 1 no hitter. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, NY in 1997.
