The listing, *LIVE* ALOE VERA PUP!! has ended.
Winner gets this little guy... hes an Aloe Vera pup...of the medicinal variety.... Just seperated it from the mother plant in my garden and potted him up on his own today.. (9/14/11)... This pup is currently just over 4 inches tall..
Aloe Vera is a very special plant with lots of healing qualities among others...I believe every home should have some Aloe..
GET IT NOW is set as low as i was allowed to set it ...I have the auction listed as a 10 day auction...This is so i can keep an eye on the plant and make sure that it takes on its own and shows to be a healthy plant.. This applies for the GET IT NOW as well..
There will be a BONUS added if GET IT NOW is used and if the bidding gets high enough!
Questions & Comments
I had a momma Aloe Vera who just could not stop prouducing her babies! I love them!
Does anyone know if Listia will let me take away the high bid from jahmon82 and bring it back down to the previous high bid? For some reason they placed the high bid and dont even want the winnings... Id much rather these pups and seeds go to someone who truely wants them and appreciates what i post as well as the "extras" that i always include for the winners!
I sooooooooooooo need one of these!! And how on earth would you ship something like this? Besides carefully! xD Wish I had the credits to GIN...crap flakes! Def. watching it!
These are awesome.... good little air scrubbers along with healing properties :) And the Desert Rose are truely amazing plants, 5 seeds for them for the winner as well! ( i have a few sprouting now from this round of seeds!)... Ive shipped succulents before with the winner truely happy with the condition they arrive!
wow flowers? Nope. Sometimes it is a challenge to remember to take it in at night when it gets too cold outside. One time it's leaves froze but it came back! sometimes I think I should give it a suitable name!
Yep flowers! sometimes youll have an aloe that shoots up a stalk of throated flowers.. Hummingbirds love the aloe flowers! It could take years to happen, but its awesome when it does.. Yeah, theyre good at bouncing back from alot of things..very resiliant...dont take that for granted though! ;)
thanks for the info. I have a wonderful large aloe plant that after 3 years finally had babies! I use it all the time for burns and it always helps so maybe I do have a medicine one. It is solid green. I love my aloe.
Youre Welcome :) and yes, it seems that you do have "True Aloe".... Its funny, sometimes they do take years to shoot out the little ones... but you may find now that there will be an abundance of them! :) Has yours flowered at all in these 3 years?
Welll... Theres a wide variety of actual Aloe..around 400 different species.... and many have some sort of healing or medicinal properties.. But Aloe Vera or "true aloe" is known traditionally as a general first aid plant..helping with burns and wounds externally..and digestion and other stomach problems internally...One must note that it is a laxative when used internally!!!!! lol Most of the time True aloe is a plain colored green with light colorations throughout.. Other species may have stripes or spots with dark bands of color.. The best way to be sure that you have a "True Aloe" is to get one from someone that is sure they have Aloe Vera.. Sometimes when they are bought from a store they carry a card that depicts medicinal value... I know this doesnt give you an exact answer, but i hope it helps..
I just checked and it says that GIN is disabled.. i think if the credits on the high bid reach a certain percentage of the GIN (2000 in this case) , listia disables the GIN.. ill look into it more
Well..good luck with your auctions! No i havent...i will do that now...i saw that comment last night, but was too busy to try and fix it...so, ill try to take care of it now
How do you keep the cats out ot it. My cat always bites mine. I guess the juice is good for a cat's upset tommy. Any Ideas how I can stop my cat from eating it. I would like to bid, but afraid my cat and a new kitten will tear it up.
I dont have any cats of my own, but i know that they cant stand the scent of vinegar..If you were to lightly rub some vinegar on or somewhere around the plant, such as the top of the pot, then that will probably discourage the cat from tasting it... And aloe vera " juice" is not good for their upset tummy..Its actually considered toxic to most animals! with the exception of a holistic blend that uses a certain extract of the aloe plant to treat sick animals.....so just be careful...but there are ways around it...one more simple thing that you can do is soak some cayanne pepper in water in a misting bottle and periodically mist the aloe... ok..hope that helps some...good luck! :)
