Yes! Absolutely smoke free. We do have a cat, but the yarn has been kept in plastic bags in the basement that the cat has never touched.

I spoke with my sister and she said this weight yarn is usually referred to as DK weight. So its actually more than sport-weight. I'm glad I checked, then.

This one is just called "soft twist", but it is color 9446, dye lot 77556.

I'm not the knitter, my sister is, so i don't know all the jargon. This is not babyweight yarn. I'd say it is one size bigger than that. But smaller than "sport" weight yarn if that makes sense.
