How did you cleanse it of energies?

Great question! I know of a few different ways to cleanse stones, but I have only done it one way because it's the way I was taught as a child.
Soak the stone (or stones) in a bowl of ocean water overnight and outside under a full moon. The moon has to be completely full, so check a calendar first to see the exact date. If you don't have access to sea water, you can use a mixture of regular tap water and sea salt. Leave out for the whole night in the salt water. By morning, the job is done. I know that some people bury them in the ground for a week and when you dig them up, they are supposed to be cleansed. I haven't used that method, but I've heard that works too. But I've only done the salt water/full moon wash, because it's what I know and what has always worked for me. However, every stone is different and so is it's keeper. What works for one person may not work for somebody else.

I was in Santa Cruz at a metaphysical shop with a girlfriend of mine who was getting a reading. The reading lasted an hour so while I waited, I ended up going on very expensive shopping spree. I REALLY liked the store, it had a very calming vibe and the woman at the counter was very knowledgeable and had such a kind spirit. I was probably too comfortable because I ended up buying WAY too many things and spending way more than I should have. I bought 5 of these all together, not to mention a bunch of other stuff! I don't need that many crystal balls, a few I have already given as gifts. Not sure if that answers your question accurately enough. But what I can say is that the shop I made all the purchases from was a very safe place. Even before I cleansed them, I had them in my bedroom and I never felt any negativity whatsoever.
