I believe this item may have originally been a man's bracelet but I have always worn it as a sexy little anklet to show off my summer tan at pool and beach parties. The contrast of the off white shells with the black leather thong looks amazing with just about any style or color swimwear, cover-up or sarong. You can even use it to dress up a comfy pair of good ol' cut offs and a white t-shirt. It makes a great statement piece for casual get togethers without being too dressy.

This item is in excellent condition, no chips, cracks or blemishes. (Note that each shell has been carefully and uniformly cut on the back to lay flat.) The leather cord is strong and has no fraying, cracking or splitting. It is perfectly OK to wear in the water, too! I have many times.

I do not know how old it is and it has no makers mark, I picked it up at a swap meet type place in Hawaii when I was a teenager some 15 or 20 years ago. No, it is not a cheap tourist trap piece. It is well made, probably hand crafted by one of the many talented artisans that grew up there. I was young and just knew that I loved it and had to have it.
