One of my favorites. Dutch Blue Poppies produce various shades of pastels, pinks, mauve's, purple, and whites. If you look closely at the seed you can tell the seeds are not all one color. I think this explains why they do not all bloom the same. Some will have smooth edges, others jagged, even a double bloom can show up from time to time. I have yet to see a true blue bloom from the Dutch Blue, but it has been told to me that warmer weather might be what keeps them from blooming. Nevertheless, they are gorgeous. They will grow tall about 3-5ft if happy, and not over crowded.
Fall is the best time to sew for those of us in warm climates.
