I would say from wing tip to wing tip it's about 2 to 2 1/2 inches.

Gold is a metal. I meant what type of metal. I have severe skin allergies to certain types of cheaper metal and it would be cool to know if this will make my skin fall off if I wear it before I bid.

This might not be the best for you. As I stated in my auction, this is not real gold. It's costume jewelry. I have no idea exactly what kind of "metal" this is. I do have allergies if necklaces are not real gold or silver but I've worn a few of these myself and never had any problems. Although mine doesn't sound as severe as you so you may want to pass this one up.
