Camellias are almost as easy to grow from seeds as marigolds. Just remember that most new and exciting varieties are grown from seeds but these are selected from large numbers of seedlings. Although seedlings rarely look like their parents, seed propagation is an easy way to grow large numbers of Camellias.

Plant seeds about one-half inch deep in any well drained potting soil as soon as you receive them. Germination usually takes from two to four months depending on temperature. Camellia seeds must not be allowed to dry out, but they can be stored in the refrigerator if necessary.
