The listing, 1972 Topps CARLTON FISK Rookie Card (Red Sox) Hall of Famer! has ended.
CARLTON FISK: The guy's a Hall of Famer, and deserved it. One of the best hitting catchers to ever play, he collected 2356 hits, 376 home runs, and 1330 RBIs in his career. he won Rookie of the Year in 1972, and would be named an All Star 11 times. He's best remembered for his home run against the Reds in game 6 of the 1975 World Series: the 12th inning blast forced game 7, and the image of him trying to wish the ball fair instead of foul is one of baseball's most indelible images.
CECIL COOPER: First called up with the Red Sox in 1971, Cooper was a part-timer for his first 3 seasons before catching on with the Red Sox. After a couple of fine seasons with the Sox in the mid 1970s, he was traded to the Milwaukee Brewers where he blossomed as an elite offensive player. He made 5 All Star games in his 10 seasons with Milwaukee, leading the AL in doubles in 1979 and 1981, and in RBI in 1980 and 1983. He topped the 20 home run plateau 5 times, and retired with 2192 hits, 241 home runs, and 1125 RBI, winning 3 Silver Sluggers and 2 Gold Gloves. Great career, and he's the SECOND best rookie on this card!
