If you want birds and butterflies you wand this plant! It grows bush like and very tall, 5-6 feet. The seeds are fresh I just gathered them this week.

It is a good remedy for gravel in the gallbladder, dissolves stones, chronic urinary and kidney disorders, bed wettings, poor appetite, dropsy, neuralgia, rheumatism. Very soothing and will relax the nerves. Increases the flow of urine. Combined with Uva Ursi, Marshmallow, Blue Cohash, and Lily Root, good for female troubles, bladder and kidney infections, diabetes and Brights disease.

Also used for headaches, hysteria, impotence, intermittent fever, sciatica, sore throat, urine retention, vomiting, asthma, chronic cough, colds, typhus fever.

The blooms last from mid summer (around June) to late fall. It attracts butterflies, birds, the endangered bees. They are hardy from zones 4-9. They reach heights between 3 to 12 feet. When planting leave at least a 2 foot area because they get very bushy. Mine are very tall. They have a light vanilla fragrance that becomes more intent when crushed. They like full sun to partial shade. If you live in a very hot area, grow it in partial shade. Spring or fall is the best time to plant. After plant dies cut it back to the ground, In the spring they will grow quickly to reach great heights. Seeds require stratification for 10 days,do not cover the seeds as they need light. It takes 2-3 weeks to see growth. The stems looks like reeds.
