For Sirah - Trace your patterns off using a Sharpie on cheap clear shower curtain liners from the Dollar Store. Great for adjusting your pattern fit too.

Good chance there will be some as I am down sizing my stash, I will be packing the box a little at a time over the course of the auction so be sure to check back. I will post pictures of everything added to the box of course because I know I like to see exactly what I am bidding on!

Oh, and use 'transfer pencils' since they do not bleed, they also work well if you want to use and iron and transfer your markings. I have also use chalk with great success on the lining. I would never use sharpies on the lining though since they tend to bleed and distort
the lines you draw. You need a clear definitive line when making pattens

Sirah, buy inexpensive sew in lining (for garments). I have been using the cheap lining for decades. I believe other seamstresses use this as well. I used to be able to buy munster paper for alterations but have not seen it in the stores in ten years. Alas, I turned to the sew-in lining and have been pleased with the results. I do use the blue artist tape to make the patterns wider as needed. It works well since it holds well and is repositional.

Fun! Have your items been exposed to smoking or have any musty odors (allergies at my house)? Thanks.

I'm fanning you and announcing my hunt for pattern making fabrics to bid on-- I don't need a tons of stuff as I live in a tiny apartment but I also can't protect paper patterns well enough to cut them out. Any suggestions?

Thank you all for your great suggestions! As the mother of 2 and on disability, I have too much time to fret over money and making every penny count. These suggestions are great!
For my own addition... it's easier to thread string with a bit of wax but you can use an burnt out candle for your wax as long as it has soft sensation too it.
I hope to have a lucrative home business up and running as soon as I can get time from the 3month old girl.
