Questions & Comments
Bobcooley, Listia isn't selling credits at face value. They are overcharging at a profitable conversion... It's not meant to be used to buy credits from scratch and get items on Listia. You would probably only want to buy credits if you only need a couple hundred to top off to get the item you want.
Gin is a get it now option when you can get the item right away, without waiting for the auction to end and competing with other bidders!! :) for the gift card the GIN is 2800 so, you may use it if you want to and have the credits! hope this helps! thanks for commenting :)
@bobcooley Listia has not adjusted the credit values for inflation since the site began. When people join, they are given free credits, and much like our current US currency, when you create money from nothing, the money already in existence becomes worth *less*, and you will therefore get less for each dollar. so the more credits there are in the system, the higher the inflation. What at one time used to cost 1200 credits now costs around 10000. They try to keep inflation in check by charging credits for listing-perks and by offering rewards auctions. I don't know why they don't just change the amount of credits you can buy for $20- I guess they are hoping the value will go back up to what it used to be.
