I wish Splat! would change the timing guide. No one should EVER use it past 40 minutes MAX. I've used this MANY times, Splat! is one of my favorite brands, but it fries and melts my hair almost every time, each time less and less so because I use it for about 30-40 mins. It's just really harsh. You definitely need to deep condition before and after for a while. And I've also noted, it's good to use this when your hair is really oily. So wait two or three days before bleaching.
I've never used it, it's from my oldest daughter she had purchased 2 boxes online she used one & had in extra one. So she told me to put it up here instead of just keeping it in the drawer. She used that same color that's on the box it came out nice I believe she left it not more than 25 mins. That's the average it should be.Nobody should go past 30 mins.
It really depends on how thick and how bright you want the ugly golden color to be LOL! I've been dying my hair for a while and my hair is so thick I have to normally use bleach twice to get anything lifted. I leave the first round on for 25 minutes and then have a couple rest days then go back over it again for 30 minutes
^Same here. Been coloring for a long time, just used Manic Panic for a vibrant red, but it washed out in three days. Now it's back to the yellow/gold/pink it was before. I have bleached with Splat and other brands multiple times to lighten it to an almost white before coloring, and I can never get any more lift past a yellow/orange without it turning my hair into elastic. Can't really afford to go to Sally's again and get some good quality bleach, developer, tools, among other things. Sucks, because I've had all colors in my hair (Blue is STILL in my hair after bleaching, dying black, bleaching again, dying red/orange and dying red again!) but nothing is as vibrant as I want let alone lasts as long as I hoped it would. Thinking of sticking to blue.
