Description

The listing, silver(925) collectors item, 1780 unc. restrike maria theresa thaler coin has ended.

I know you can'y really see it, that is why I have now purchased two cameras that don't work. To be able to take pictures for listia. This is a beautifully uncirculated 1780 restrike of a Maria Theresa Thaler (Austria) .925 silver and supposedly just over an ounce, either way it is beautiful, heavy, and even though a restrike, any of these coins you find today are restrikes short of a museum. More restrikes were authorized by the royal family than of the original. If this does better than the last try at numismatism, I have two more that are BU, I might put up for auction.....we shall see

Well of course it has an ounce of silver, so. If you look on amazon lets say, you can find them from 48.00 to 400.00 for proof (I have a proof coin as well, until I have a good enough camera to see the proof there is no sense in putting the others up for sale. This is uncirculated, of course to a collector that's worth far more than it's weight. I guess in the long run it's worth what you are willing to pay and what someone is willing to pay you. Look at amazon, you will see the large range of values. charles105

I'm sorry I did not see this one, I wanted to answer all your questions in the last e mail. First, because all the maria's were restruck in 1780, no ifs ands or buts. second, it is worth just at or over (the weight was not quite as accurate 300 odd yrs ago) i ounce. If you just want it to scrap then that is what it is worth !! It's all about money to everyone today, it is unc, it has a certain patina just beginning, they are beautiful coins..... that is about all I can tell you. sorry you seem unhappy with th civil war peice and this one, oh well. charles105

I also have a "proof" coin of the same variety. If you look on oh...say Amazon, you will see these coins from the price of an oz. of silver.around 48.00 to 200.00 plus. You will find one or two proof coins ranging to 400.00 and over. Anyone with any REAL interest is free to let me know, either here or at minman52709@yahoo.com. Understand, I do mean "SERIOUS" about purchasing a proof example, whether credits or other. charles105
