The listing, Israeli phone token "Asimon" GIN Gets 2 Telephone Tokens from Israel!! has ended.
Israel issued these copper-nickel phone tokens from 1964-1982.
Phone tokens were discontinued years ago when there was only one phone company in Israel. Instead of accepting traditional coins, customers had to purchase these tokens to make calls on public phones. A common nuisance when using these tokens was that calls would abruptly end with no warning once the token ran out, forcing users to guess the amount of time they had left or repeat the call! Tokens feature a beautiful deer logo and Hebrew writing of the Israel phone company.
Fabulous for a collector!
