You are bidding on a Bar of Silver Graphite Metal. On the Bar it has Jennison's Silver Graphite Metal Bay City, Mich. It measures about 6in long by 2.25 in wide by 1 1/8 tall it weights almost 5lbs. But it is missing a small piece off the corner as seen in the photo. I do know Jennision's was a 7 story Hardware Store Down By the river in Bay city, Michigan. Really it was a everything store it would be like Wal-mart or Kmart of the 1920's through the 1960's. As for a use for the metal I think they used to melt it down to make bearings.
