Questions & Comments
i live in PA and a friend of mine gets sage for her store from somewhere in NM as well. she pays about $20 a pound & will then charge $25 a pound, except for those she knows. she hasn't been able to get any in awhile because the price went up. definitely watching this!
See? This is why I am offering this...because some people are paying a high price for it, or they just can't get it in their area...I know there are a lot of people here on Listia that use White sage..it's become very popular...years ago they sold New Mexican Sage & cedar bundles...these smell better to me.Thanks for looking! = )
White sage has been used for 1000's of years by the Native cultures to remove negative energy in the home, say you had an argument with someone in your home...after the argument, you would light some sage in a fireproof container and let it smoke and then take it to every area in you home, especially the corners , after you finish you let it burn all the way out. Open the doors and windows to let all the smoke out....your home will feel peaceful and cleansed again.I use this all the time, have used it for years and I swear by it! Peace. = )
That depends on where you live...if you live out west, then yes it is quite cheap, but if you live east of the Rockies, it goes for a lot of money, here in Pensacola a small smudge stick goes for @ 8 dollars..no joke.Yes I could get about that much for a quartz size bag.I would love to know your source if you buy it for under 8 dollars a pound dear.
I live on the gulf coast..and my source is in Taos New Mexico...but this type of sage...and there are several types of sage grows in California..and maybe surrounding states.I like this type of sage the best, easy to light and smudge.Where do you live? Do you use the white sage? Or New Mexican sage? Or the sage that the Lakota use from Nebraska?
I have a really good source out of New Mexico, and they are dedicated to healing Mother earth, a very clean spiritual source, that's all I will deal with.I think they are reasonable, but if you have a source that can beat their price...lol..message me and let's connect and share..I might have a source you would like too...i have used sage for almost 30 years.
I've used Sage for many, many years ... also use a wonderful combination of Sage, Sweet Grass, Cedar and another cleansing herb [for ceremonial purposes] as I've been taught by my Elders.
Yes I use all three, got some beautiful Grandmother sweetgrass braids that were braided in Washington by the native grandmothers there, smells awesome! I am also a pipe carrier, so I use red willow and tobacco, among others. I use lavender too.
Cascade Mountains in Washington/Oregon/California & north to eastern Canada, South to Texas/Northern Mexico/Montana/Utah/Colorado & Great Plains States. While living in Canada, had several sources for a really awesome White Sage. Still have a few bundles of Sage from a friend in Colorado who was able to go out and gather on her property so, I had a totally free source for sage in the 90's. Unfortunately, she no longer lives there!
I know right? Can't find it in the east at all..: (..seems like east of Nebraska..or the Rockies in the southern states! I use sage all the time to keep the energy nice in my home...so I have to buy it to keep it on hand.Thank you for looking estaw! = )
(((Sandra))) Just wanted to validate the sage prices you quoted in your description for our Pensacola area.
I have a store in Pensacola. Ceremonial White Sage is one of my top ten products sold & requested. I'm posting my prices to validate Sandra's valued price in her listing.
3" wands = $3.50 8" wands = $9
Loose sage .25 ounce bag = $3.00 per bag 1/2-lb = $15 1-lb = $25.00.
Another factor that affects sage prices in this area is "availability". During the late Spring through Summer our prices are "a little better".... after October 1st, we pay through the nose to get sage from the West, because it is out of season. The places that do grow & harvest it year round charge according to supply & demand.
I hope this has been helpful to all you who are thinking about bidding. This is a great but, rare find in Listia auctions:-) Good luck to all of you!
Thanks enchanted Cove!If y'all haven't checked out Enchanted Cove's auction and store, you should..she has some very nice & one of a kind items. She is also one of the great artists here on the Gulf Coast!Check her out! = )
