Description

The listing, 1992 Topps BRETT FAVRE (Packers) - First Topps Card! has ended.

Favre was not included in the 1991 Topps set, when he was a rookie with the Atlanta Falcons. He was included in the Stadium Club set, but not the Topps base. This is Favre's first appearance in the Topps base set, the flagship of the Topps line.

Favre is a legendary Green Bay Packers quarterback who retired with almost every significant passing record. While Peyton Manning is working hard at topping him, Favre is kicking back and waiting for his trip to the Hall of Fame.

Thanks for looking, happy bidding, and good luck!

Yeh sat. when the Packers retired his jersey & put him in their Hall Of Fame was really cool, touching & funny! It,s cool they finally accepted him back!! 67,000 tickets in 7 or 8 min. just to c that grey headed sucker! LOL! I have a 1991 2nd rd draft card from the Pro Set in Falcon garb. I,m a Falcon fan so you can imagine my feelings about the stupid a#** trade Jerry Glanville made cuz he didn't think Farve was good enough to become an NFL caliber QB!! Howed that turn out? (NOT TO GOOD) I might have won it from you! He was a great player & tuff as HELL

I never regret those kinds of deals. Glanville was right in terms of "this guy is offering us nothing right now, so ship him out." Its perhaps foolish to concern yourself with what someone might be later, or even with what success he achieves after leaving the club. Its always about now, this year, this ring, this trophy, this championship. Glanville let go of a guy who was not helping on field at the time in favor of someone who would or could, that's still a smart decision.
I'm a Pirates fan in baseball. We've got two guys we need to can, but the other fans complain when I say it. Polanco has a "high ceiling", but he's terribly awkward. I know he MIGHT pan out, but if they want to play in the World Series THIS year, he should be trade bait. Alvarez used to be good, forgot how to play defense, got moved into a less-work defensive position and still isn't cutting it. "Why trade him?" they ask. "What if he becomes a 35 home run guy again?" Yeah, well, good for whoever gets him, then. He's not helping the team RIGHT NOW, and we want to produce now, not ONLY hope we can compete 3 years from now.

You never know what the rookie is gonna become, but you don't get rid of them just cuz you don't like him. It's not like Glanville is in , or ever will be in anyones hall of fame! I see the Pirates are one of the best so far this season! They beat K,C. the past 2 nights didn't they? Or was it the other way around, i work 12Hr nights & heard the highlights, Dodgers gettin beat twice by the Braves & whatnot!! You're right though you never know who's gonna do what when, but i still wish they had held on to ole.......Faaaavraaahhhh!!!! LOL!!

See, I'm going to disagree. You can't worry about a "what might be" with a QB way down in the depth charts. Favre might have paid off for the Packers, but for every Brett Favre, there are literally hundreds of Colt Brennans. That's hundreds of good decision being made, lol! Don't look back, look forward.
The Pirates and KC have split so far.
