yep a 1943 war time zinc coated steel penny, we needed copper for the war so they made the steel penny for a replacement for the one year

1943 they made many steel pennys the only unique that year were the error they made a few bronze the steel penny is cool to see but has little value many collectors have 1 or more of these pennys very easy to come by

Those type of pennies are world war II pennies made from raw zinc steel better known steel pennies made at the time of the second world war when cooper for bullets then money to win the war.

If u ever find a 1944 steel wheat penny like this one it is worth ALOT of money being that those are rare!! A 1943 isn't worth anything!!
