Description

The listing, V-tech Learning Laptop - Blue has ended.

This brand new laptop was opened, played with once, and I immediately didn't like that it doesn't have a headphone jack. Too loud for my taste, but maybe your preschooler will get a kick out of it. I'm more a puzzles kind of mom. This has two volume settings, "LOUD" and "YOU'LL WAKE THE BABY!" Taking it back wasn't an option since my dear old dad got it for me as some kind of parental revenge (he purposefully buys annoying toys, I <3 grandparents!).

A couple of superficial scratches on top. New batteries. $30 retail, used once, check out reviews online. Bought at Toys R Us in July. 4 AA Batteries. Questions and relevant comments are always appreciated.

Questions & Comments

Did it keep your kid engaged for longer than five minutes? The only thing that truly fascinates my son is my $1500 laptop and that's just not going to happen so I'm looking for an alternative that will really keep him entertained.

It definitely did, but I had to spend time to teach my 5 year old how to get from one activity to the other and it make sense. Before I taught him he messed with it for over an hour mashing the buttons and listening to the games. He found the music games that let the keyboard act like a piano and he was playing "music". And the numbers games he liked too. But we live in an apartment and the sound of it could be here in the back bedroom and the baby's room, even when he was playing in the living room. It's a great toy, and has a LOT of games, it's just not good in dimly lit rooms (little to no backlight on the screen) and it's loud. Hope that helped! Also, check out the reviews for this on Toys R Us - they have a lot of other great opinions!
