The listing, ***LOOK*** Antique Middle Eastern Dagger has ended.

An extremely old, Middle Eastern Scimitar-style double-edged dagger. Given to me in a box bought at auction by my grandpa years ago, and now available to a collector here on Listia! This beautifully engraved antique sheath appears to be made of brass and is etched throughout with decorative accents, including two belt rings near the upper guard. The handle is made of hardwood and has a brass-accented pommel. The blade itself is double-edged (still quite sharp) and curved in the ancient Scimitar-style of larger swords. An amazing piece for any knife collector or possibly historical display. I have not cleaned or sharpened this knife due to the fact I didn't want to take a chance on messing up the blade. this is an awesome auction just to hold that much history in my hand would be a revelation! I have an old roman coin that every time i hold it i can just feel the history coming off of it. the life these objects must have seen!!! ABSOLUTELY AWESOME!

Absolutely agreed. I love older things like this, especially weapons and the like. My favorites are more the Civil War/Old West era personally, especially older pistols like the Navy Colts and such, or the old Arkansas Toothpicks or Bowie Knives as it were. That's why I chose to go ahead and put this and the Indian Dagger (one of my other current auctions) on here, because while beautiful and historic, my particular interests aren't with these styles. Unfortunately due to the age, I haven't been able to tell for sure where it was made. The engravings on the sheath are very reminiscent of the old Middle Eastern Scimitar-style swords, only this is a smaller dagger. It's still in the vicinity of 14-16 inches though. But with the country of origin, someone who knows more about them would have to make that determination at this point. This one, unlike the other one I have listed, just doesn't have it engraved or prevalent anywhere. I hope that helps, and thanks for your question.

Thank you for your comment. Yes, this is a very old one from all I can tell, and has some beautiful etching work on the sheath. The accents on it are still gorgeous and with a little cleaning it could easily be a show piece for any collection. Again, thanks for your comment and happy bidding! :)

Hia. This is very pretty. I'm very new to Listia so forgive me if I sound like a jerk. Can you tell me if the sheath (?) is one color? In your pictures it shows the holder to be a vivid gold tone and then you have another picture that shows it to be a very silver color, perhaps on the other side of the holder? It has some kind of silver-toned metal on it (unless that's just the brass faded as far as I can tell) and brass accents all over it. It's very beautifully designed as far as the etching work and the like. And it may have just been the way the light from the camera flash reflected off the metal as well that gave it that tone.
