Description

The listing, 14 Granny Smith Homegrown Apple Seeds has ended.

Up for auction are 14 Granny Smith apple trees! Unlike the others, these are homegrown from my own trees growing in my back yard.

These have a sweeter flavor than the ones you get at the grocery store, although the tartness is also present.

Be sure to bid on these if you want them, because there are only 2 packs available. My trees only provided a few apples this year. Absolutely no pesticides nor chemicals have been used on my apple trees. All organic

I really must have been half asleep when I listed this one, LOL. I didn't realize I started at zero until somebody started bidding.

I thought you couldn't get the same apple from seed , and you need to graph

You don't absolutely have to graft but you can. My apples came from two trees planted side by side to cross pollinate each other. These apples are not like the Granny Smith you buy in the store (which are grafted by commercial growers), but in some ways I think they taste even better than the commercial ones. It takes 8-10 years before seedlings grow to fruiting size anyway. You could try grafting several of the resulting seedlings together, or take a commercial tree twig and graft it to one of these when the time comes if you really want an apple more like the store bought ones.

There are some really great tutorials on Youtube. There are some good ones on growing your own root stock too.

Now I'm starting to get into indoor hydroponic growing. I'm hoping to fill my house with dwarf fruit trees and eventually grow all my own produce indoors.
