a friend gave me this phone because she switched service. i have had it for 2 years and i dont live where there is service for this phone. the ssid and imei are posted. it is up to the bidder if they want to call. if no one wants it i am just going to throw it in a used cell phone bin at walmart.
I just called Metro and was told that this phone is active on someone elses account so I will NOT be able to activate this phone for use. Just so everyone knows, the ESN IS NOT CLEAR for activation...
it will be clear by november because that will be the 2 year mark. i thought it was 1 year to be clear. and this was a prepaid phone so i dont know how it could be on an account.
MetroPCS doesn't do contracts so I don't know why the ESN will suddenly be clear after 2 years. I tried Googling to verify what you say but I don't find that info anywhere. Can you link me to where you got this info? I'd really like this phone but it will be a waste of credits and $ if the ESN is bad.
i got the info from the friend i got it off of. she lives in florida now and i live in ohio. she gave it to me with a bunch of other stuff when she came up for vaca.
Like I keep saying, you dont need to call the phone carriers anymore, thats the old method, very old. There has been websites that check esn's out for years now. Some charge and some are free. Here is the only site that does it free, and checks almost all carriers:
http://www.checkesnfree.com/
MetroPCS is a prepaid phone carrier, so im not sure how they can lock a phone for 2 years, that doesnt even make sense. But this is what the website said when i checked the number, and everyone else is welcome to check for themselves:
MetroPCS 268435459311739094 The ESN/MEID you provided is clean for activation
I would block the guy who said it wasnt clear for activation, and hide his comment. He is probably selling a similar phone and is trying to ruin your auciton. If you dont believe what i posted, check the site yourself and call MetroPCS. Only takes 5 minutes.
As for people not paying for shipping, twice, maybe you should just offer free shipping, as the $4 charge might not be worth the aggravation of relisting and waiting a month just to get some credits for the phone. Just a suggestion thats all.
