Tibetan Buddhists use singing bowls like this for meditation and prayer. To make the bowl sing, first tap it. Hold the stick upright against the bowl and move it slowly around the outside, keeping firm contact with the surface. The bowl will start to resonate. Artisans at the New SADLE workshop in Patan, Lalitpur, Nepal, create this singing bowl. First, they melt a mixture of metals and pour it into a mold. After the bowl cools, they grind and polish the bowl to make it shine. This is an ethically sourced, Fair Trade instrument that comes from Ten Thousand Villages.

You can also hit the bowl and it rings out like a bell, for meditation. Makes a great gift!

This bowl is gently used, and new, was valued at $59.

My neighbor is from Nepal and it sounds so beautiful to hear this echo down the Wolf River where we live in north Wisconsin. Never thought I would see one here & winner will be enchanted. It is true musical art
