Description

The listing, Handmade Luxury Honeysuckle Lye Soap - Not Your Grandma's Lye Soap! has ended.

Ahhh Springtime is here! Can you smell the flowers in the air? I can, ever since I made this Honeysuckle soap the way my grandma used to make it with premium oils and lye blended to the perfect consistency. I use high quality oils like olive oil, coconut oil, grape seed oil, soy oil, castor oil, shea butter and cocoa butter.
You will never go back to store-bought "soap" again, which is actually detergent. Do you like the thought of rubbing detergent on your body? I don't. Gimme some soap that won't dry my skin out please! I only use my soap on my kids and my son has rosacea.

Hi! Thank you! I am so pleased to hear someone say that, lol! It is a lot of hard work but very rewarding and I love the feedback I've received on listia, ebay and personal sales I've made.
Do you still make it, or decided it just isn't for you? I'm so curious! Another soapmaker! Lol. When I tell people I have a business and it's making soap they look at me like I'm strange since they can just buy it at the grocery store for 99 cents (they don't realize it's total crap from the store though)!

I didn't do the lye kind, I made the melt and pour, which I found to be a lot easier, lol. I have a few books on the lye(or cold process kind) but haven't tried it yet. I have everything to make it...when my son gets older I will(he is 12 months). Haven't had much time for it now with the baby.
Where I am, we also do not have a big craft store that sells all this stuff(liek I did in Seattle), so having a hard time finding the supplies. I could get it online, but shipping is expensive, because this stuff is heavy. I loved making it though. I also made home made bath salts, hair rinses, and bath oils. I can't wait to get back into my crafts again. One of the many things you give up when you become a mommy(but worth it)

M&P is certainly easier but not any less rewarding! I just made some last night :) cold process soap is intimidating and took me 6 months to even try my first batch! Shipping is stupid expensive but for me it's worth it since I buy in bulk (especially the lye). I live in Raleigh so I'm fairly lucky to be able to get most of my stuff around here. I totally understand about having babies, I am a single mom of 3 :) My youngest was 2 when I first started making lye soap but only when he was napping or after they were all in bed. Now he's 3 and plays by himself when his brother and sister are at school and I can do it in the daytime :) (being a mom is sooooo worth everything!)

I've been interested in your soaps for a while now, but Wow these are going for a lot of points! You should just sell them on Etsy or something like that!

It's funny. I do have an eBay and Etsy account but my soaps are not selling on either site right now. As a matter of fact, I've had my etsy acct for about a year now and have not made a single sale. eBay has slowed down dramatically. It stinks, lol. But they're doing really very well on listia! I can't believe how many credits they are going for but I'm lovin it! :)
