Description

The listing, !!!WOW!!! LOT OF 8 MATCHED OPAL DOUBLETS, 7.62cts., 8mmX6mm, WOW!!! has ended.

LOT OF 8 MATCHED OPAL DOUBLETS,
Boulder opal forms on ironstone boulders in Queensland. This type of opal is often cut with the ironstone left on the back, as the opal seam is usually quite thin. Leaving the ironstone on the back means that boulder opal can be very dark and beautiful in color. The opal forms within the cavities of the boulders in both vertical and horizontal cracks. Boulders vary in shape and size, from as small as a pea, to as big as a family car. Boulder Opal has a tendency to cleave; when cleaved the "split" leaves two faces of opal, with a naturally polished face. This phenomenon is due to the angle the microstructure of the opal originally grew. The opal cutter commonly finishes the opal, with the natural opal veneer exposed with ironstone backing. Although Queensland produces other forms of opal, sandstone opal as pipe and seam and matrix, which are often found at the same mine, it is the Boulder Opal that is most sought.
Australian Boulder Opal represents purity and intensity. It assists in emotional and mental balance, calms the inner soul. Facilitates actualization. Excellent stone for progress, expansion, and development. Helps one connect the conscious and subconscious, providing for a clearing understanding of oneself. Facilitates communication between the Earth plane and the star people of this world and other worlds. Clears and brightens the aura, stimulates healing. It has been used to access spiritual guides and animal guides. It can be used in medicine-wheel ceremony to stabilize energy

Thanks Lucy, I'm afraid my jury is still out on the whole Opal question, for as many people that have asked me multiple times if I had or could get Opals of a variety of kinds, when it has come down to actual bids being made for them, the turnout has been less than I expected...we're gonna hafta wait and see how this turns out before listing more. I try to the best of my ability to provide what everyone wants, but, sometimes it turns out that they didn't really want them as much as they seemed to indicate, lol!

Yeah, like I said, I'm just getting started in it, and trying to put together some playable decks, which ain't easy when you're not sure just what the different cards do, lol! But, slowly but surely, right?

Yeah, I'd be happy to bid any decks you can put together! Hold on 3 days, though, as I'm trying to score a Kindle Fire 6 to Replace my Fire HD which quit charging! Darn thing got me addicted over a year and a half and got me to put my library on iut, and then went on the fritz and put me into withdrawal, lol! Have a great day!
Namaste!

Iam sanguine . This is significant, I was primarilly worried when after the 1st 10 days the bid stood around 2,000. That was stimulating just the occasional Second Thought about unfortunate listings and questionable wagers, lol! But this bid, even if it doesn't move another credit, shows the offering has been properly valted by the target audience, and I feel much reassured!
I saw your pokesale!! A whole other, unexpected facet comes to light! I am, at this juncture, in-training by my 11 y/o as to the finer aspects of MTG, so I was cruising the gritty back alleys of the Card Collector listings, doing a little covert deck-building on the sly, and I come across a whole starter set with a bunch of good looking stuff, but, when I looked closer it was Pokemon, not Magic...so I'm about to click-off, and my eye catches a familiar profile pic and I'm saying to myself..."Hmmm, now that one I did not see coming...I've gotta ask her about this."
Sooo...?

Yes, I think this is a fabulous deal! One (1!!! ) opal ring on here went for something like 600000 or 800000 credits alone! ) I don't think it was even a karat(Carat, carrot? Lol)

Yup, (all I know about carats is there are approx. 5 carats per gram...I'm much more familiar with grams, mm, cm, etc.), I thought I was making a good offer.

All I've heard is Australian Opals are the best worth more than gold ! 7.62 is a lot of Karats (or Carats , or carrots Lol!) No matter how you slice it!! These would make two fantastic earrings, a gorgeous bracelet , necklace or rings!I'm surprised they weren't GINNED right away!! You can see that beautiful Fire inside!! Well, someone will be awfully lucky to get these!

well, that's exactly what I figured! It's a set of EIGHT MATCHED OPALS, you could do a lot of things with that, and my GIN was much lower than many that I see on Listia today, for example, there was a 50mm Amethyst Orb that GIN'd last night for 222,222 credits. Now that's a pretty item, and puts out some good vibes in your house, but it can be purchased retail for $20! I thought my GIN of HALF THAT MUCH was extremely reasonable for a set of 8 matched Opals! I guess there's just no tellin' what folks are gonna do...

Yes, well, somebody mentioned something about opals, and I responded that I had some I might list, they said let them know when I did, so I promptly forgot who asked me to tell them, lol!! But, anyway, I have quite a few more, here at home, both duplex, solid Opals, Ore of Opal, and other stuff! Some of them are Blue...this set is more greenish...it's a mixed bag, and i knew nothing when I was buying them!! I was involved in the Jewelry Department, studying for my bench jeweler certificate, and it was also when I got my first Computer, and was learning the internet. I found the Gemstone auctions and went off the deep end, and I've just been sitting on them for nearly a decade! I wish I could say that I know loads more about opals now than I did then, but...Nope, about the same, lol! So, Y'all are gonna have to value it for me by your bids! All I can really tell you is that they're beautiful! Good luck!
Namaste!

And that's a talent in and of itself! Nice of you to share your story! Here's to happier years ahead for you, my friend! You do deserve so much more!!

Oh, I'm pretty content, so many others have it a lot worse than I do! As busted up as my body may be, I'm not in CONSTANT Debilitating pain beyond the ability of my meds to mitigate it, and I still have my eyesight and access to plenty of books, and the internet, so even my social life doesn't SEEM as circumscribed as it would be at any other time in history, and look at the times in which we're living, where a year doesn't pass that we don't learn some great stupendous truth about our Universe that Mankind has never guessed before! I live in interesting times, with a decent education and access to as much knowledge as I can suck in, who could complain under circumstances as miraculous as those? Have a great day!

OK, sure...I still need to look through what I've got, at this point. I know I DO have a few, so I can say that much, we'll just have to see what I find. I know that I have some stuff called Opal Roughs, too- supposed to be Opal matrix, unsearched for actual Opals- I might list some of that, too. we'll see.

What else, I was taken down by the love of a good woman! Same ol' story...w/ a few surprises...I was married, back in'78... had 2 boys, we split in '88. When I got with her, I met her sister at the same time...hit it off with both women, but, the one I married had like an hours head start w/ me, so her sister stood back...history took it's course, we split, and sister was married...more years pass and sister breaks w/ marriage and I was Involved...finally after several cycles like that, I got disabled, decided I wanted to retrain myself in Art metals, sculpture, welding, etc. and get associates at the same time, so I went to local CC and got 2-3 certificates in welding and a couple in Blacksmithing and Art metals, sculpture, etc, then discovered Jewelry fabrication (taught in same building) and fell in love with it as it was the same things I was doing with steel, copper and bronze, writ small and done in silver, gold and platinum, sometimes with gemstones included. did a year and a half of classes, had 1 jewelry course, 1 final welding course remaining to finish both those programs, had a solid year of extra credits beyond those needed to get my associates degree, BUT I'm bad at math, and still needed 3 math classes to satisfy my core curriculum and graduate. THEN LAURIE CALLED ME! Her husband had died 6 months before, and she was feeling lonely, and asked if I'd like to come over...and that was the beginning of the end. We spent about 2 years in a state of happiness, and had made plans to marry, and she caught a cold one night and the next day she was dead! Cardiac complications that neither of us were aware that she had. Anyway I was in a severe depression for close to 3 years, and when I started coming back out of it my circumstances and attitudes had morphed, and I just never went back.

When I was studying, 2003-05, we had tiny little oxy-acetylene torches that we used for all our hot work...that and bunsen burners. there wasn't an iron in the classroom. Very fine control with the O/A rig.
