The listing, A Life Cut Short..... has ended.
Norma Jeane Mortensen, took up modeling in 1944 and in 1946 signed a short-term contract with 20th Century Fox, taking as her screen name Marilyn Monroe. She had a few bit parts and went back to modelling. She got back into co-starring in bit parts but was best known for her pin-up body, which was a contributing factor in her overdose and death about a year before I was born. She was a very beautiful soul, and this is a scarf made in her name.
Best bidder get's it sent to them. It's 60 X 30 inches a very good sized scarf indeed!!!
Good Luck xoxoxo
Questions & Comments
She was also on the cover of the first Playboy published, December 1953, launching what turned out to be a huge, multi-million dollar empire for Hugh Hefner. Strangely enough, I read an article where Hugh Hefner said he never met Marilyn Monroe. Equally strange, he owns the burial plot next to hers ( or did at one time). It's quite sad....not only her death and her life leading up to her death, but also, the millions of dollars made since her death, compared to the pittance she earned while alive. I liked her....not just the way that men in general liked her, but also for the glimpses of you would see of what I like to believe was the "real" her. For some reason, when I watch The Misfits (1961), with Clark Gable, I feel like you see glimpses of the real her. I find that movie somewhat disturbing, and I feel she was disturbed by some of the movie too. Maybe I'm full of crap too, lol...who knows. But anyway......Hi Debby. How are you? It is a beautiful scarf, but this guy don't wear scarves sooooooo....I won't be bidding, lol
