Known to fans as "Hondo", "The Washington Monument", and "The Capital Punisher", Howard pummeled 246 home runs during 8 years with the franchise, leading the league in homers twice, playing in 4 All Star games, and 4 times finishing in the top-10 of MVP voting. For his career, Howard hit 382 homers and drove in 1119. A statue stands in his honor in Nationals Park in Washington
-A 4 time All Star, Horton played 15 of his 18 seasons with the Detroit Tigers, pummeling 262 of his career 325 homers with Detroit. Today, he remains a special assistant to Tigers GM Dave Dombrowski.
-1968 was the best season for Ken "Hawk" Harrelson, then playing with the Boston Red Sox, leading the league with 109 RBI. He's actually much better remembered as the Chicago White Sox broadcaster, author od such classic lines as "You can put it on the board! Yes!", and "You got be bleeping me!"
