I have been told it can work with a universal remote - will check it out. I have a similar one in my Man Cave without a remote and I use the up and down buttons manually, but I have to get out of my recliner to change channels and that is a hassle. I will update when I find out if the univeral remote will work or not.

Thanks for your comment and concern!!

Will this work without having to pay for cable bill or is it just like my comcast box & having to pay for basic cable

No, it is for use only for tv reception through an antenna. It is used with older tv's to view local tv stations. You would still need to pay for cable.

Hey- Looking for something to hook to my HDTV to get "regular channels", will this do that? I am missing my singing buddies on " Karaoke Battle USA" on ABC...I was a NYC Finalist myself but was 3rd when they only used 2 :(

I think that you could get a HD antenna and hook that to your HDTV. I know that is what I did when I got a HDTV and had to pay for local channels - works great. This is used to hook a HD antenna to an analog TV.
