The listing, Indian pottery shard and 2 alligator teeth has ended.

This is a 3000 yr. old pottery shard from the Santee river banks of coastal S.C.. It is classified as Wilmington pottery and was made by the local indian tribes by pressing various things into the clay to imprint, such as straw or sticks or woven material. The 2 alligator teeth are self explainatory and also from SC rivers, and what you have to brave to go find the pottery shards!

Not quite 3000 yrs old if it is Wilmington pottery. If it was "woodland" pottery yes. This is a common mistake. However it is up to 2000 yrs old.give or take 600 yrs. Either way it is nice to have. I will hopefully be bidding on it. I have a "elbow trade pipe" that it would go nicely with. it has only a slight crack on one side of bowl. anyways... will fan you and good luck...

Very cool!
I don't know about "woodland"...but was told by local collecters and hunters that it was such. Who knows, folks maybe like to exaggerate. what does it take to establish 'woodland' pottery?
