it will not turn green, gold filled is best thing before 10k golld. it's a 1/20th ( sometimes 1/30th) of an inch of REAL 12k gold rolled, then filled with an alloy...Its better than vermeil and gold over silver...its a beaut! fanned and watching!!! (im self taught unofficial jewlelry specialist :}

Yes vermeil is, a plate of 100 microns minimum, not all gold plate IS vermeil and can not be called vermeil unless it is a minimum of 100 mils/microns of plated gold over s/s. this is Gold-filled which is better, longer lasting :} I have a ring up now that is technibond from HSN. notice esp. on HSN.com they can't called it vermeil because it is only 40 mils/microns of gold over sterling silver...just an FYI for all who might read this:} no harm, just getting out correct education. Im ready to bid!!
