Description

The listing, 1963 ORIGINAL MINT SET IN MINT CELLO has ended.

This auction is for a 1963 Mint Set in its original packaging. This set contains the Franklin Half Dollar, the Washington Quarter and the Roosevelt Dime all 90% Silver. Obviously all coins are in Mint Brilliant Uncirculated condition.
The scans above are of the actual item that you will receive, and are provided for you to determine the condition and/or grade of it.
I am no longer accepting GIN offers for my auctions, everyone now gets a shot at bidding.
Be sure to check out all of my other auctions that always run on Saturday, Sunday and Wednesday.
The winner will receive this via FREE SHIPPING W/Tracking.
Remember that all Listia rules apply.

Most of you know that I have been adding a rider to all of my auctions, stating that the post office is no longer reliable enough to get anything delivered in a timely manner and I wish that this was not necessary.
The post office has been off and on again when it comes to shipping lately and First Class Shipping has been making it to its destination within 1 week, and then the next few are not being scanned for days for some reason. I just want you to know beforehand that this will be sent the next available day after auction end, but I have no control over it after I do drop it off.
Thank you for your interest in my auctions and stopping by to view them.

It says that this is a proof set on the paper that is with the set.

in 1963 the mint sets were proof sets and came from Philadelphia. It really is not known to me why certain years did not have the proof sets made (1943 thru 1949 and again from 1965 thru 1967) and in 1968 proof sets were moved to be struck in San Francisco.

I get a coin paper. It has a list of all coins and sets. In 1963 there are mint sets that have both P& D coins in them. What you have is a proof set. It says proof set on the paper. The mint set is worth a little more because it has 2 Haves, Quarters and so on.

what you are talking about is the uncirculated mint set that will have both P & D mints included. so what is the problem with this set? did I try to mislead you in any way? I guess that I am not sure where this is going, or what the problem is with this set.

It's a proof set from Philadelphia. I have the 59, 62, 64. So 64 is the last year Philadelphia made proof sets. So I need the 63 set. Should be no problem. Just I paid $34.95 for each of mine plus shipping. So about $40.00 a set. Let's see how high your go. I'm in. They are nice coins.

if you need the 63, here it is. :) I do not see another one showing up in the near future... but then again, you never know, especially when I buy bulk lots, lots end up here on Listia.

130,000 points is about right for these, just can't use up all my points right now. I buy from a coin dealer off t.v. they always have them, in sealed originally packing. The p.c. stands for proof sets in the bottom left corner. The other guy says the ment set is worth more, not really, just you get two of everything. Good luck hope you do well. I'll keep my eyes open for your auctions.
