Description

The listing, 60 GB IDE Laptop harddrive has ended.

This listing is for an IDE laptop hard drive. It is small by today's standards, but it could be useful for someone with an older laptop as an upgrade or maybe one that needs a replacement hard drive.

It is 60 GBs, has 16383 cylinders and 16 heads. Runs at 4200 RPMs. It's a Hitachi Traverstar drive, made for an IMB Thinkpad, but it should run on any laptop that uses IDE hard drives as those drives follow given standards for computer parts.

It's date of manufacture is March 15, 2004. However, it passes all "smart" status testing and works fine. I was using it myself not even a week ago, but owning I just goit a new laptop, I figured I'd list it here in the hope that someone would find it useful.

And I want to earn some credits too!

If you are unsure if this drive will work in your laptop, post the make and model number in the comments and I will look it up for you.

Item will be shipped in a padded envelope, standard first class mail. I will provide a tracking number when shipped. If you want another form of shipping (e.g. overnight) you will have to pay for the shipping yourself.

*Update: The drive is currently empty, as in you'd have to format it form usage. I could format it to NTSF (Windows 2000 and up) or EXT4 (Linux) upon request before shipping.

I have no idea, I have never used one myself. I thought those enclosures where ment mostly for desktop drives?

I know the enclosed drive can be connected to a desktop or a laptop, what I am trying to say is that this is a laptop drive, not a desktop drive.

The only drive enclosures I have seen on the 'net are for desktop drives. Do you have one that works with laptops drives? Also, keep in mine this is an IDE drive, not a SATA drive.

I have no personal experience with hard drive enclosures, you'd have look at the manual that care with the hardware you are asking about, or look it up on the web.
